Privacy Policy

The short version

Your trip history, fuel records, and receipt photos are stored on your iPhone. Receipt and odometer text recognition runs on the device. If you turn on Google Sheets sync, your records are written to your own Google account. Yanke Digital does not operate a server that collects your driving data, and there is no advertising or third-party analytics in the app.

What MileMatrix stores on your device

• Trip records: date, distance, start and end points, and the purpose you assign.
• Fuel records: date, volume, price per unit, total cost, and the vehicle involved.
• Vehicle profiles: the names you give your vehicles and their distance and volume unit preferences.
• Photos you take of gas receipts and odometers.

Motion and location

To detect that a drive has started, MileMatrix uses Apple's motion activity and location services on your device. iOS asks for your permission before either is used, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings. Withdrawing it stops automatic trip detection; you can still enter trips yourself.

Camera and text recognition

Receipt and odometer scanning uses the camera and Apple's on-device text recognition. The photo is processed on your iPhone. MileMatrix does not upload photos to Yanke Digital or to any third-party recognition service.

Google Sheets and Google Drive

Google sync is optional and off until you connect an account. When you connect it, MileMatrix requests permission to create and update files in your Google account. It uses that access to write a spreadsheet for each vehicle and to store your receipt photos in Drive.

• The files belong to your Google account, not to ours.
• Yanke Digital does not read the contents of your sheets or Drive files.
• You can disconnect the account in MileMatrix, and you can revoke access at any time in your Google account security settings.
• Once synced, the data in your Google account is also covered by Google's own privacy policy.

Siri and Shortcuts

If you use Siri to log a fill-up, the request is handled through Apple's system frameworks and is subject to Apple's Siri privacy handling. Because a fill-up is a financial record, MileMatrix confirms the details with you before saving anything.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your information.
• We do not include advertising SDKs.
• We do not build an advertising or behavioural profile from your driving.
• We do not run a MileMatrix account system, so there is no MileMatrix login to breach.

Support correspondence

If you email support, we hold that email and anything you choose to attach to it for as long as we need it to help you and to keep a record of the issue. Please do not send us documents you would not want us to have.

Children

MileMatrix is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed to children under 13.

Your choices

• Delete individual trips, fuel records, or vehicles inside the app.
• Delete the app to remove the data stored on your device.
• Delete the synced spreadsheets and Drive files directly in your own Google account.
• Revoke motion, location, camera, or Google access at any time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your information is handled, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.

MileMatrix helps you keep a mileage and fuel log. It does not give tax advice, and the values it calculates are not a guarantee of what you can claim. Check your own jurisdiction's rules or ask an accountant.
